Thanks to a series of educational activities, including field trips, school workshops, the study of environmental literature, creative, technical and digital workshops, about 70 young people from the Piana Rotaliana and Val d’Adige valley (aged 14-16) prepared four environmental quizzes linked to the four themes of the final document of the Provincial Strategy for Sustainable Development (“SPrOSS”) – “For a Greener Trentino”: Water, Biodiversity, Emission Reduction and Land Security. Try all four quizzes and become the greenest person of Trentino!

The Strategy for Sustainable Development of the Province of Trento (“SPrOSS”)
The SProSS plan:
- Deploys the UN 2030 Agenda and the National Strategy for Sustainable Development in Trentino.
- Is a strategic framework to promote integrated sustainability of provincial action
- Describes a vision of the sustainable Trentino of the future and the actions to be put in place by 2030
- It consists of 20 sustainability goals classified in 5 areas: For a 1) Smarter; 2) Greener; 3) More connected; 4) More social; 5) Closer to the citizes Trentino.
The SProSS plan section “For a Greener Trentino” aims to promote the energy transition and biodiversity, protect the natural resources and incentive climate change adaptation, and environmental risk prevention and management.
- WATER: Minimize pollutant loads in soils, water bodies and aquifers by comparison with the good ecological level of water systems, maximize water efficiency and adjust withdrawals to water scarcity.
- BIODIVERSITY: Preserve and improve the conservation of species and habitats, increase the extension of protected areas, and foster urban/rural ecological connections.
- EMISSION REDUCTION: Reduce climate-altering emissions, increase energy efficiency and renewable energy production.
- LAND SECURITY: Prevent natural and man-made hazards, strengthen the resilience of communities and territories and ensure a sustainable forest management.
