September 22, 2026
The AGRECOL Trees project delivers significant social benefits to the communities that have joined Econtrovertia APS on this journey. In addition to working with schools and centres for older people and young people, the project has also involved two rehabilitation centres in the Department of Cochabamba.
The entire platform is managed by Mr Mark Miller, who is also responsible for meeting with the various institutions that benefit from the project.
He established the first contact with Neidi Quispe, who is responsible for both centres. Together, they coordinated a visit to assess whether sufficient land was available and whether the centres were willing to receive support.
Both centres focus on the rehabilitation of young people: Cometa works with young people serving criminal sentences, while Playa Ancha supports young people recovering from drug addiction. Both institutions are directly managed by the Social Policy Department Service (SEDEPOS), a public institution of the Department of Cochabamba.

This is the first year of reforestation at both centres. The initiative was a collective experience for the young participants, who began by preparing the holes for the trees after receiving the necessary instructions. They also performed well during the planting phase.
The support provided through the reforestation project goes beyond simply planting trees. It gives the young people confidence and new opportunities, while also encouraging them to take responsibility for caring for the plants entrusted to them. In addition to contributing to reforestation, the project promotes the personal development of each young person involved in caring for a tree. These are valuable, although indirect, benefits of the initiative.
